My approach as a counsellor and psychotherapist is underpinned by the values of person centered and humanistic counselling. This means that I hold a deep respect for your individuality, I am committed to listening with empathy, acceptance and without judgement. I believe in establishing a relationship in which you can feel accepted and understood. I wish to allow for the growth of trust which will help you feel safe to explore your experience. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, you know where it hurts and that within you are the resources you need to make the best decisions for yourself. My role as a counsellor is to facilitate your search for inner resources and to empower you to live your life more fully.
In my work as a therapist I integrate use of psychodynamic and mindfulness-based approaches to psychotherapy as well as understanding of family-systems approaches.
